In the small and mighty Episcopal Diocese of Delaware,
Youth Ministry is an important part of
who we are and what we represent.

:: PURPOSE ::

Youth Ministry means coming alongside an adolescent on their faith journey and helping them grow. It's about young people experiencing the love of God expressed through Christ and figuring out how to respond. It's the delicate and forgiving practice of Mission and Communion. Our Mission is twofold: to seek and serve Christ and to love our neighbors. And Communion, because we embark on the mission together, with them and with God's help.

:: YOUTH MINISTRY COORDINATOR ::

In 2008 we were fortunate to hire our first ever Diocesan Youth Ministry Coordinator - Teri Valente Her position exists to:

Serve our congregations, clergy, and youth workers as a consultant, support, and resource in strengthening their youth ministries
Be an advocate and voice for youth and youth ministry
Facilitate a diocesan youth ministry network for our youth leaders
Build up our Diocesan Youth Council
Create opportunities for youth to gather throughout the Diocese
Facilitate Delaware youth involvement in Provincial and National Episcopal youth events
Offer training opportunities for our youth workers

:: YOUTH COUNCIL ::

Youth Council is a newer tradition in the Diocese of Delaware. Ideally - it will become a gathering every other month of Youth Leaders and 2-3 high school students from each parish in the Diocese. They meet to plan Diocesan Youth Events. They also are the first line of delegates for Provincial and National Youth Events. Check out our events!
